After finishing a PhD in 1997 at the University of Exeter, UK, I was a postdoctoral research fellow in the School of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at The University of Queensland. I then held academic positions at the University of Skovde and Halmstad University in Sweden. I re-joined The University of Queensland in 2003. I am currently appointed by the School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences, and affiliated with both the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, and the Institute for Molecular Bioscience.

I am leading a bioinformatics research group, and we are working on a number of research projects.
